Samsung, SK, and Celltrion to Invest 392 Trillion Won in High-Tech Industries in the Chungcheong Region

Samsung, SK hynix, Celltrion, and others are 추진ning largescale investments in the semiconductor, display, secondary battery, and bio industries in the Chungcheong region. The government also unveiled support measures to back this up.
On the 2nd, at the "Citizen Briefing on the Vision for the Development of Advanced Industries in the Chungcheong Region" held in Asan, South Chungcheong Province, the government announced its strategy to foster advanced industries in the Chungcheong region. At this event, companies' regional investment plans and cooperation measures between the central and local governments were also disclosed.
Samsung decided to invest about 140 trillion won in OLEDs and nextgeneration displays, HBM fabs and packaging, highperformance package substrates for AI servers, and equipment related to new battery manufacturing processes. SK hynix plans to invest about 100 trillion won in NAND and advanced packaging, while Celltrion plans to invest about 2 trillion won in biopharmaceutical production facilities. Adding in AI data center investments by other companies, the total investment in the Chungcheong region was projected at about 392 trillion won.
The government said it would support corporate investment through measures combining finance, funding, regulation, technology, taxation, talent, and infrastructure. It also plans to immediately launch a dedicated task force to quickly resolve issues companies need, such as site selection, permits and approvals, electricity, water, and manpower.
