On June 27, Chinese authorities announced that He Zhiliang, deputy minister of the Central Social Work Department, is suspected of serious violations of discipline and law and is currently undergoing disciplinary review and supervisory investigation by the Central Commission for Discipline Inspection and the National Supervisory Commission.
Publicly available information shows that He Zhiliang was born in October 1970 and is from Linhe, Inner Mongolia. He worked in Inner Mongolia and Jilin for a long time, and formerly served as Party Secretary and Mayor of Jilin City, as well as Vice Governor of Jilin Province.
In January 2025, He Zhiliang was appointed deputy minister of the Central Social Work Department.
