Chengmai, Hainan speeds up its transformation from a major industrial county to a strong manufacturing county

September 21, Hainan Chengmai news: Chengmai is promoting the transformation and upgrading of its manufacturing industry, and plans to achieve a leap from an "industrial county" to a "strong manufacturing county" during the "15th FiveYear Plan" period, with a target manufacturing output value of more than 40 billion yuan. Local officials said that Chengmai has a solid manufacturing foundation, with a relatively complete range of industrial sectors and several distinctive industrial segments. Leveraging platforms such as Laocheng Technology New Town and Macun Port, the county's manufacturing output value had exceeded 15 billion yuan by the end of the "14th FiveYear Plan" period, forming an industrial base in new materials, food processing, oilfield services equipment, and other sectors. For future development, Chengmai has identified six key directions, including new energy vehicles and equipment manufacturing, new materials, deep processing of food, mid to highend consumer goods processing, deepsea oil and gas service equipment, as well as hydrogen energy and clean energy equipment. The local government also said it will promote traditional manufacturing toward advanced manufacturing through attracting investment, technological upgrading and capacity expansion, intelligent transformation, and green transition.
