30 Taiwanese compatriots experience Bābǎo tea culture in Ningxia
The Ningxia Bābǎo Tea Experience Hall takes you to feel the flavor of Northwest China’s tea drinks and the sense of traditional ritual Taiwanese compatriots personally mix their own exclusive Bābǎo tea, unlocking a new experience of Ningxia tea culture
On August 3, 30 Taiwan compatriots visited the EightTreasure Tea Experience Hall in Wuzhong, Ningxia, to learn how to make locally distinctive eighttreasure tea and taste this traditional Northwest Chinese beverage.
During the event, under the guidance of tea makers, participants combined tea leaves, longan, red dates, goji berries, rock sugar, and other ingredients according to their personal taste, experiencing the brewing process of their own “personalized” eighttreasure tea. Many Taiwan compatriots said that this way of drinking tea, which combines flavor and a sense of ritual, left them with a new impression and gave them a more intuitive understanding of Ningxia’s tea culture.
According to reports, the origins of eighttreasure tea can be traced back to the Tang Dynasty and the Silk Road. This weeklong “United in Heart Across Mountains and Seas, Walking Together” grassroots Taiwan residents’ tour in the Hexi Corridor will also take 30 Taiwan compatriots to Yinchuan, Zhongwei, and other places to continue learning about Ningxia’s industrial development and history and culture.
