Heavy Rain Forecast for the South and Jeju, Heatwave Forecast for the Central Region as Typhoon Jangmi Moves North

Due to the influence of Typhoon No. 6, Jangmi, heavy rain will fall in the southern regions and Jeju until the 2nd, while hot and dry air is expected to flow into the central regions, prolonging the heat wave. The Korea Meteorological Administration explained that hot and humid air is entering Korea through a narrow air corridor between the North Pacific High to the southeast of Japan and the typhoon moving northeastward southwest of Okinawa. As a result, rainfall of 30 to 120 mm is expected in Jeju Island and 20 to 60 mm in Busan and Ulsan. Typhoon Jangmi is causing strong waves in the southern seas, and the gale warning for the far seas of the southern coast may be upgraded to a typhoon warning in the early hours of the 2nd. Temperatures in Seoul during the day on the 2nd are expected to rise to 33 degrees Celsius, and areas without rain are expected to experience more intense heat. Showers are also expected in some areas on the 3rd and 4th.
