The two departments maintain Level IV flood control emergency response for Shanxi, Heilongjiang, Yunnan, and Shaanxi

On August 4, the Office of the National Flood Control Headquarters and the Ministry of Emergency Management organized a multidepartment consultation to assess the development trends of recent heavy rainfall and severe convective weather, and to arrange floodcontrol work in key areas. According to the briefing, although rainfall nationwide has generally eased, heavy rain仍 remains in parts of Shaanxi, Hubei, Yunnan, and South China. Showers will also occur in the eastern Northwest, western and northern North China, and northern Northeast China, with locally intense shortduration rainfall. Severe convective weather remains relatively active in southern Heilongjiang, western Jilin, and northern and western Henan. Floods exceeding warning levels have already occurred on the main stream of the Songhua River and on some medium and small rivers in the Northeast and Southwest, and the floodcontrol situation remains complex. Based on the current rainfall and water conditions, the National Flood Control Headquarters and the Ministry of Emergency Management have decided to continue maintaining a Level IV floodcontrol emergency response for Shanxi, Heilongjiang, Yunnan, and Shaanxi.
