Criticism of Oh Se-hoon's real estate policy and the debate over responsibility for rising home prices and the jeonse shortage are spreading Check out the key issues surrounding Seoul's supply shortage and policy controversy now
Seoul Mayor Oh Sehoon criticized the Lee Jaemyung administration’s real estate policy on the 19th, arguing that the president should take responsibility for rising housing prices and the jeonse shortage.
In an interview with SisaJournal TV, Mayor Oh said the current administration’s policies are more likely to push real estate prices up rather than bring them down in the future as well. He also said that even at President Lee Jaemyung’s press conference the previous day, there were no signs of a policy shift.
He also pushed back against being singled out as the cause of Seoul’s rising home prices, saying that under former Mayor Park Wonsoon, the mass cancellation of redevelopment and reconstruction zones reduced the supply of housing units. On the jeonse shortage, he criticized policies centered on actual occupancy, saying they led to a decline in jeonse supply.
