Central Work Safety Assessment and Inspection Will Carry Out Spot Checks and Unannounced Visits in the Second and Third Quarters

According to the Ministry of Emergency Management, the central production safety assessment inspections for the second and third quarters will soon begin, including both announced and unannounced checks. The relevant work deployment meeting emphasized that lessons should be learned from recent accidents, onsite inspections should be carried out rigorously and in depth, and major hidden hazards in sectors such as mining, chemicals, fireworks and firecrackers, construction, firefighting, industry and trade, and special equipment should be重点排查. The notice pointed out that typical major accident hazards discovered will be handed over to provincial Party committees and governments, which will urge local authorities to verify and rectify them, while also tracing responsibility backward and handling the matter seriously. At the same time, the inspections will also carry out special checks on problems in regulatory enforcement, and strictly investigate illegal and unlawful conduct, falsification and deception, as well as corruption and misconduct in the field of work safety. The report also mentioned that relevant departments will increase the intensity of public exposure through the media and publicity reporting, promote social supervision, and strengthen the deterrent effect against major hidden hazards and typical illegal and noncompliant behavior.
