The National Summer Culture and Tourism Consumption Season kicks off in July, with 30,000 events offering 450 million yuan in discounts Covering popular scenarios such as summer getaways, family outings, and night tours, unlocking summer travel benefits ahead of time

On July 8, the Ministry of Culture and Tourism launched the 2026 National Summer Culture and Tourism Consumption Season in Menyuan, Qinghai. The event will run until the end of August. During this period, more than 30,000 cultural and tourism consumption activities are expected to be held nationwide, and more than 450 million yuan in consumption vouchers and subsidies will be distributed. This consumption season is being jointly promoted by the culture and tourism authorities together with relevant departments, enterprises, and platforms. It focuses on summer demand such as sightseeing, escaping the heat, travel, and event viewing, and will introduce consumerfriendly measures. The General Administration of Sport of China, the Civil Aviation Administration of China, the China Meteorological Administration, China UnionPay, and several internet platforms also announced supporting discounts and service arrangements on site. Local activities will cover popular scenarios such as summer recreation and escaping the heat, coastal vacations, the nighttime economy, cruise and yacht tours, parentchild trips, study tours, intangible cultural heritage cuisine, and museum visits. As the host location for the main event, Qinghai has also launched multiple themed routes and distributed culture and tourism consumption vouchers to boost the local summer tourism market.
