On August 5, Chinese Foreign Ministry spokesperson Lin Jian said that the Chinese side firmly opposes the U.S. side's generalization of the concept of national security, abuse of state power, and unreasonable suppression of Chinese companies.
According to reports, the United States is considering measures to restrict imports of newly produced optical transceiver modules from China, and plans to impose additional tariffs on polysilicon and related products, as well as set price floors. In response, Lin Jian pointed out that such practices are not conducive to normal economic and trade exchanges between Chinese and U.S. companies, and do not serve the interests of U.S. companies and consumers.
Lin Jian said that the Chinese side will continue to safeguard the legitimate rights and interests of Chinese companies.
