Li Qiang emphasized the need to implement safety production work thoroughly and in detail at the national safety production video conference

On September 28, the State Council held a national video conference on work safety. Li Qiang, Member of the Standing Committee of the Political Bureau of the CPC Central Committee and Premier of the State Council, stressed at the meeting that we must thoroughly implement General Secretary Xi Jinping's important instructions on work safety, adhere to putting the people first and life first, tighten the responsibilities of all parties, solidly advance all work related to work safety, and resolutely prevent and curb the occurrence of major and extraordinarily serious accidents. Li Qiang pointed out that a series of major production safety accidents have recently occurred in some places, reflecting that the current situation of work safety remains severe and complex. The meeting called for focusing on key areas such as fire safety, mixeduse production and business premises, outsourced management, mines, fireworks and firecrackers, ship enterprises, tourism and transportation, hazardous chemicals, industrial and trade enterprises, and construction, strengthening risk investigation and rectification, promoting closedloop rectification of hazards, and improving the targeting and deterrent effect of supervision and law enforcement. The meeting also stressed the need to improve corporate safety management, accelerate the elimination of outdated equipment and technological upgrading, and tighten local management, departmental supervision, and the principal responsibility of enterprises, while strengthening publicity on safety knowledge, emergency preparedness, and work on disaster prevention, mitigation, and relief. Zhang Guoqing presided over the meeting, and Wang Xiaohong and Wu Zhenglong attended.
