Data released by the Ministry of Public Security on July 11 showed that from January to May this year, the number of criminal cases filed by public security organs nationwide fell by 16.1% year on year, while the number of public security cases filed fell by 10.6% year on year.
The report noted that public security organs across the country have continued to advance technology empowerment and institutional innovation, improving the efficiency of risk prevention and governance in areas such as tourist attraction crowd management, smart traffic, and integration of police networks.
In cracking down on telecom and online fraud, police have continued to strengthen fullchain countermeasures and interdepartmental cooperation, and the number of related cases has declined year on year for eight consecutive months since October 2025. At the same time, public security organs in many places have also been advancing special initiatives in areas such as intellectual property protection, safeguarding enterprises and optimizing the business environment, and grassroots governance.
