Key Project of the Xiamen-Jinmen Bridge Successfully Closed

The Liuwudian Suspension Bridge section of the Xiamen-Jinmen Bridge in Xiamen has been successfully closed, further accelerating the opening of the main sea-crossing route Navigation for 200,000-ton vessels is imminent; stay tuned to the project's subsequent deck and electromechanical construction progress

On September 26, the Fujian Provincial Department of Transportation announced that the Liuwudian Suspension Bridge in the XiamenKinmen Bridge (Xiamen Section) project was successfully closed on September 24, marking significant progress in this key controlling project. The Liuwudian Suspension Bridge is 1,948 meters long, with a main span of 928 meters. Its deck consists of 126 steel box girders. After closure, the deck structure has been fully connected, creating conditions for the subsequent construction of the bridge deck system, electromechanical installation, and traffic safety facilities, and laying the foundation for advancing the opening of the main marine route of the XiamenKinmen Bridge (Xiamen Section). According to the report, the bridge's navigation opening can accommodate 200,000ton cargo vessels. During construction, the project improved the safety and precision of steel box girder erection through factory prefabrication, hoisting monitoring, realtime early warning, and assessment of wind and sea conditions.
