Heavy Rain Continues in Many Southern Areas, with Localized Torrential Rain in the Next Three Days

The Ministry of Emergency Management said that on June 22, the Office of the National Flood Control and Drought Relief Headquarters, together with multiple departments, held a consultation to assess the recent rainfall situation and urged key provinces to strengthen flood defense for rivers and prevention efforts against heavy rainfall. The consultation pointed out that over the next three days, the main rain belt will still be located over an area stretching from Guizhou and Guangxi to the middle and lower reaches of the Yangtze River. Eastern and southern Southwest China, the Jianghuai region, Jiangnan, and western South China will see heavy to torrential rain, with some areas possibly experiencing extremely heavy rain and localized rainfall reaching extraordinary torrential levels. At present, the numbered flood on the Liujiang River in the Pearl River Basin is moving downstream, and some sections of the Xijiang River will also experience a risingwater process. The National Flood Control and Drought Relief Headquarters will continue to maintain its Level IV emergency response for flood control in Jiangsu, Anhui, Jiangxi, Hubei, Hunan, Guangxi, Chongqing, and Guizhou, and has required the relevant regions to strengthen inspections and guarding, prevent mountain floods and geological disasters, and relocate people to safety to ensure the safety of the public's lives.
