Song Hongyuan was expelled from the Party and dismissed from public office for disciplinary violations and illegal conduct. The former Deputy Mayor of Daqing and former Public Security Bureau chief has fallen from power. The case involves issues such as bribery, offering bribes, and buying and selling official positions, and the relevant assets have been transferred for review and prosecution.
On July 14, the Heilongjiang Provincial Commission for Discipline Inspection and the Provincial Supervisory Commission announced that Song Hongyuan, former vice mayor of Daqing Municipal Government and former director of Daqing Public Security Bureau, had been expelled from the Party and dismissed from public office for serious disciplinary and legal violations.
The announcement said Song Hongyuan was accused of being disloyal and dishonest to the Party, and of resisting organizational review, illegally accepting banquets, improperly entering private clubs, buying and selling official posts, accepting gifts and cash, and improperly borrowing large sums of money.
In addition, he was also accused of using his position to seek benefits for others in matters such as job promotions, project contracting, case handling, and administrative approvals, and of illegally accepting huge amounts of property. He is also suspected of the crimes of bribery and offering bribes. Any illegal gains from his disciplinary and legal violations will be confiscated, and the suspected criminal matters and assets have been transferred to the procuratorate for review and prosecution in accordance with the law.
