On the afternoon of July 7, the National Committee of the Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference (CPPCC) held a preparatory symposium for the members of the 2026 Chairpersons' Meeting, focusing on exchanges and discussions around “giving full play to the CPPCC's role as a specialized consultative body.” Wang Huning, Chairman of the National Committee of the CPPCC, presided over the meeting and delivered a speech.
Wang Huning said that we should thoroughly study and grasp the spirit of General Secretary Xi Jinping's important speech at the大会 marking the 105th anniversary of the founding of the Communist Party of China, deeply understand the important significance of upholding the Party's leadership, the united front, and the cause of the People's CPPCC, and further strengthen political, ideological, theoretical, and emotional identification.
He also pointed out that consultative democracy should run through the entire process of political consultation, democratic supervision, and participation in state affairs, and that the level of institutionalization, standardization, and proceduralization should be improved in order to better play the role of the People's CPPCC in offering advice on governance, building consensus, and pooling strength, thereby contributing to advancing Chinesestyle modernization.
