On September 12, the Henan Provincial Market Supervision Administration announced the first batch of 2026 typical cases in the crackdown on the production and sale of fake and substandard meat products, involving issues such as uninspected meat, the addition of nonedible substances, label fraud, and unlicensed production. The related cases reflect that local authorities have continued to carry out a special crackdown on meat products this year, and a number of illegal acts have already been investigated and punished. In Sheqi County, Nanyang, in a case involving the operation of pork, law enforcement officers on site seized pork suspected of being coated with fluorescent whitening agent, related additives, and business tools. Test results showed that fluorescent whitening substances were detected in some samples, and the case has been transferred to the public security authorities for handling. In another case in Luohe, the food labels produced by a company entrusted to manufacture them were alleged to contain false information, and packaging materials infringing the exclusive right to use a registered trademark were used for sales. The amount involved was approximately 18,600 yuan, and the relevant authorities imposed an administrative penalty in May this year. The Zhengzhou HighTech Zone also investigated a case in which meat product production and processing was carried out without obtaining a food production and business license, with the amount involved reaching approximately 93,100 yuan. The related enterprise has also been subject to an administrative penalty.
