China Achieves Multiple Scientific and Technological Breakthroughs, Rocket Net Recovery Achieves a Global First

This week, China made progress in multiple technology fields, among which the most notable was a historic breakthrough in reusable rocket technology. On July 10, the Long March 10B launch vehicle was successfully launched from the Hainan Commercial Space Launch Site, and after completing its mission, its first stage was recovered by capture with a net system on an offshore recovery platform. This was China’s first controlled recovery of a launch vehicle first stage, and also the world’s first netbased rocket recovery.
Also on July 10, the country’s first fully domestically developed 100,000GPU AI supercluster, Dawning 8000 (Dengfeng), was officially completed and connected to the National Supercomputing Internet, marking a step forward in the largescale deployment of domestic AI infrastructure. The article also mentioned that the offshore converter station in the integrated offshore wind power flexible DC transmission project was put into operation on July 7, and will later help transmit deepsea wind power to the GuangdongHong KongMacao Greater Bay Area.
