The National Health Commission held a press conference on June 17, reminding the public to use narcotic drugs and psychotropic drugs in a standardized manner and avoid legal risks caused by improper purchase, use, or resale. Spokesperson Hu Qiangqiang said that according to relevant laws, the scope of drugs not only includes opium, heroin, methamphetamine, and the like, but also certain narcotic drugs and psychotropic drugs that are under state control and are addictive. Obtaining such drugs by fraud, issuing prescriptions under another name, or reselling them may constitute drugrelated crimes. The National Health Commission emphasized that such drugs should be purchased and used under a doctor's guidance with a prescription, and patients should return for followup visits as directed by the doctor and must not adjust the dosage on their own. Expired or leftover drugs should also be returned to medical institutions in accordance with regulations and not passed on to others. In addition, although some drugs such as Yumei tablets and pregabalin are not included in the catalog management, they also carry addiction and health risks, so caution is still required when using them.
