Three Key Factors for Companies to Improve AI Adoption Outcomes

AI adoption success strategy: Increase results through CEO leadership and application to core business operations. See how to build competitiveness by focusing on growth rather than cost reduction.

According to a Boston Consulting Group (BCG) survey, the companies that were most successful in adopting AI showed results in revenue growth and operating profit margins that were 2 to 3 times higher than those of late adopters. These companies had one thing in common: their CEOs personally led the AI transformation, and they applied AI intensively to their core businesses. Jeff Walters, BCG X AsiaPacific regional leader, explained that an approach that views AI only as a means of cutting costs is not sufficient. He said that performance improves when AI is connected to a company’s core functions, such as R&D, manufacturing, and marketing, and that it is efficient to use external AI tools for simple repetitive tasks. He also advised that AI investment costs should be managed systematically, and that employees should be given a sufficient explanation of the purpose of AI adoption and the direction of job redesign. He explained that in markets like Korea, where AI usage is active, job insecurity is also significant, making corporate communication and training important.
