Guangdong Fire Rescue, together with multiple departments, conducted a nighttime inspection and identified over 5,900 fire hazards

Recently, Guangdong Fire and Rescue organized a provincewide joint nighttime inspection, bringing together the housing and urbanrural development, market regulation, urban management, public security, emergency management, industry and information technology, culture and tourism departments, as well as township and street offices and gridbased community teams, to focus on issues such as electric bicycles being brought illegally into buildings and homes, and blocked fire escape routes. The Guangdong Provincial Fire and Rescue Corps reported that the operation set up more than 2,260 joint inspection teams, dispatched over 7,750 inspection personnel, inspected more than 14,800 production, business, and residential premises, and identified more than 5,920 fire safety hazards. Of these, more than 4,960 were rectified on the spot, bringing the rectification rate to 83.8%. The remaining hazards have been logged, ordered to be corrected within a time limit, and will be followed up and rechecked by gridbased community teams. During inspections across various places, issues such as storage of items in stairwells, electric bicycles brought into homes, and fire escape routes being occupied and blocked were also found in Jieyang, Zhuhai, Huizhou, and other areas. Guangdong Fire and Rescue said that next, it will continue to focus on key areas such as illegal charging of electric bicycles and fire escape route management, improve the longterm nighttime inspection mechanism, and strengthen "lookback" inspections to continuously enhance fire prevention and control capabilities.
