The Lijian-1 Y15 launch was a success, with Shanghai enterprises participating in the development of core payloads such as the computing satellite Five satellites entered orbit on one rocket, witnessing new progress in the large-scale application of commercial aerospace and the launch of domestic intelligent computing into space
On July 24, the Lijian1 Yao15 carrier rocket lifted off from the Dongfeng Commercial Space Innovation Test Zone and successfully placed five satellites into their planned orbits in a “one rocket, five satellites” mission. The mission was successfully completed. This launch was also Lijian1’s 15th flight, demonstrating the model’s sustained payload capacity in commercial launches.
One of the highlights of this mission was the launch of a computing satellite jointly developed with the participation of Shanghaibased companies. Jitianxing A04 was jointly developed by Zhejiang Lab, Moore Threads, Shanghai Xuntian Qianhe, and other organizations. Equipped with a domestically produced GPU intelligent computing payload, it can perform a certain degree of autonomous computation and task processing in space, reducing reliance on ground instructions.
In addition to the computing satellite, Shanghai companies also participated in the development of related payloads such as meteorological observation and infrared detection. The report noted that this reflects how Shanghai’s commercial aerospace industry is expanding from component supply into areas such as complete satellite development, core payloads, and systems integration, and also shows that China’s domestic commercial aerospace sector is accelerating toward largescale application.
