High-quality development of Shandong Province's artificial intelligence industry: strengthen support from computing power and data, and promote the implementation of models and scenarios CPPCC suggestions focus on optimizing the policy ecosystem and talent development to help the industry accelerate upgrading

The Shandong Provincial Committee of the Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference held a monthly consultation meeting on July 29, hearing suggestions and opinions from CPPCC members, experts, scholars, and industry representatives on promoting the highquality development of the artificial intelligence industry. Participants discussed issues such as computing power infrastructure, model development, scenario applications, industrial ecology, and talent cultivation, and put forward a number of targeted suggestions. In terms of industrial support, some members suggested optimizing policies and services around artificial intelligence entrepreneurship, reducing costs such as registration, premises, and computing power, and improving the supporting ecosystem through shared offices and scenario training. Other members proposed that Shandong should rely on industrial big data and its strengths in manufacturing scenarios to promote the orderly opening and circulation of data, so as to solve the problem of "having scenarios but no data." In terms of talent and governance, it was suggested to strengthen the development of AI disciplines in universities, promote the joint establishment of innovation classes and training platforms by universities and enterprises, and cultivate more interdisciplinary talent that is better aligned with the needs of the industry. Ge Huijun, Chairwoman of the Shandong Provincial Committee of the CPPCC, said that support in areas such as computing power and data should be strengthened, the implementation of vertical models and diverse scenarios should be accelerated, and policy support and regulatory mechanisms should be improved to create a better ecosystem for the development of the artificial intelligence industry.
