Heilongjiang promotes agricultural and forestry scientific and technological innovation with postdoctoral talent
Heilongjiang postdoctoral academic exchange focuses on forest tree breeding and low-carbon agriculture and forestry, driving innovative research breakthroughs More than 200 people from 60+ universities and research institutions discussed results transformation, helping regional revitalization and industrial upgrading
On July 23, in Harbin, Heilongjiang, Xinhua News Agency reported that on the 23rd, the national postdoctoral academic exchange activity titled “Gathering Wisdom in Agriculture and Forestry, Creating a Green Future” was held at Northeast Forestry University. More than 200 postdoctoral researchers and young research backbones from over 60 universities and research institutions at home and abroad exchanged ideas on cuttingedge directions such as tree breeding, forest ecology, lowcarbon agriculture and forestry, and smart equipment.
During the event, more than 50 scholars from home and abroad delivered presentations. Several academicians and wellknown experts also gave keynote talks on research progress in related fields. Heilongjiang said it is attracting postdoctoral researchers to play a greater role in innovation breakthroughs and industrial upgrading by improving policies, increasing investment, and optimizing services.
The report noted that Heilongjiang has now established 336 postdoctoral stations, with an average annual recruitment of more than 1,000 postdoctoral researchers over the past three years, and a local retention rate of about 75% after completion. In recent years, the region has continued to increase support for postdoctoral training and development, and has incorporated it into its talent revitalization plan to meet development needs in ecological agriculture, smart forestry, agricultural and forestry carbon sinks, and the bioeconomy.
The article also gave examples, saying that some postdoctoral research results have already been applied in agricultural production. For instance, a biobased carbondot slowrelease coating technology developed by a related team has been tested in demonstration fields and has brought about improvements in both yield and quality. Heilongjiang said that in the next step, it will continue to improve the quality and effectiveness of postdoctoral training and development, injecting innovative momentum into regional revitalizat
