On the 3rd, the main voting day for the June 3 local elections, reports of administrative errors and disturbances came in one after another at various polling stations in Daegu and Gyeongbuk.
At an apartment complex in Hyomokdong, Donggu, Daegu, residents were unable to use the polling place inside the complex because of a classification mistake made by an administrative welfare center employee. Those residents had to walk to a nearby polling station to vote, while, conversely, nearby residents were classified as people who would use the polling place inside the apartment complex, drawing complaints.
At a polling station in Namgu, Daegu, a report was filed from someone upset over a change in the voting location, and police determined there was no intent to obstruct voting and took a warning measure. From the morning until noon, several reports of disturbances and mistaken reports were filed with the Daegu Metropolitan Police Agency and the Gyeongbuk Provincial Police Agency, and police responded by deploying security personnel until the vote count ended.
