Wang Yi meets with Russian Presidential Administration Deputy Chief Oreshkin in Shanghai

On July 17, Wang Yi, a member of the Political Bureau of the CPC Central Committee and Foreign Minister, met in Shanghai with Russian Presidential Administration Deputy Chief Oreshkin, who was in China to attend the World Artificial Intelligence Conference. Wang Yi said that China and Russia are comprehensive strategic partners of coordination for a new era, and the two sides maintain mutual understanding and support in international and regional affairs. Wang Yi noted that Russia's accession to the World Artificial Intelligence Cooperation Organization reflects the high level of ChinaRussia relations and will also contribute to the organization's future development. The Chinese side is willing to strengthen coordination with the Russian side, promote artificial intelligence to develop in a healthier, safer, and more orderly direction, and enhance capacity building in related fields among countries of the Global South. Wang Yi also said that under the strategic guidance of the two heads of state, ChinaRussia relations have maintained steady development. The two sides should continue to implement the consensus reached by the two heads of state and promote the continuous deepening of bilateral relations and practical cooperation. Oreshkin said that the Russian side congratulates the successful holding of the World Artificial Intelligence Conference, welcomes the World Artificial Intelligence Cooperation Organization initiative proposed by the Chinese side, and is willing to work with the Chinese side to advance related cooperation and continue to strengthen highlevel exchanges and multilateral coordination.
