Previously, an increase plan of 4,200 won per roundtrip had been drawn up through mediation by the Ministry of Land, Infrastructure and Transport, but it was rejected in a vote by union members, sending the negotiations back to square one.
Due to this strike, readymix concrete pouring work has been halted at major construction sites such as Samsung Electronics' Pyeongtaek campus and SK hynix's Yongin cluster.
