Liu Guozhong emphasized the importance of agricultural disaster prevention and mitigation during his investigation in Inner Mongolia

Inner Mongolia is strengthening field management and disaster prevention and mitigation in autumn grain production to stabilize the foundation for increased corn and soybean yields Focus on high-standard farmland and black soil protection to enhance comprehensive production capacity and farmers' income

Liu Guozhong, a member of the Political Bureau of the CPC Central Committee and Vice Premier of the State Council, conducted an inspection in Inner Mongolia from September 1 to 3, focusing on autumn grain production, disaster prevention and mitigation, and agricultural infrastructure construction. Liu Guozhong successively visited Kezuo Zhongqi, Horqin District, Kailu County, and Kezuo Houqi in Tongliao City to inspect the growth of corn and soybeans, as well as work on yield improvement and agricultural services. He said that the current period is a critical stage in the formation of autumn grain output, and that field management should be strengthened, measures such as "one spray, multiple benefits" for stable and increased yields should be implemented, and highquality farmland, improved seeds, advanced machinery, and good farming methods should be coordinated to promote balanced yield increases over large areas. At the same time, meteorological disaster monitoring and early warning should be strengthened, and emergency agricultural machinery dispatch, rapid harvesting and drying, and pest and disease control should be properly carried out to reduce the impact of disasters. During the inspection, Liu Guozhong also examined the construction of highstandard farmland, black soil protection, seed industry revitalization, and agricultural water conservation. He emphasized that efforts should be made to continuously enhance comprehensive grain production capacity, advance the construction of highstandard farmland and the improvement of farmland water conservancy, promote smart agriculture and suitable agricultural machinery and equipment, improve arrangements for grain procurement and storage, and safeguard farmers' income from grain production.
