According to Opinet, the oil price information system of the Korea National Oil Corporation, the average selling price of gasoline at gas stations nationwide in the third week of June was 2,009.2 won per liter, down 0.7 won from the previous week, marking its fifth consecutive weekly decline. The average selling price of diesel also fell by 0.7 won to 2,004.1 won.
By region, Seoul was the most expensive at 2,051.2 won, while Daegu was the cheapest at 1,989.6 won. By brand, SK Energy gas stations averaged 2,012.8 won, and budget gas stations averaged 1,995.7 won.
International oil prices fell as progress was made in implementing the agreement related to the end of the war between the United States and Iran, but the decline was limited as Israel's attacks on Lebanon continued. The government plans to comprehensively review oil pricing policies, including whether to extend the fuel tax cut, and then decide on price cap measures.
