Chen Yiqin emphasizes strengthening the protection of women’s and children’s legitimate rights and interests

The expanded meeting of the AllChina Women's Federation Standing Committee was held in Beijing on July 27. State Councilor and ACWF Chairperson Shen Yiqin attended and delivered a speech. She stressed the need to thoroughly study and implement General Secretary Xi Jinping's important statements on women's and children's work and the work of women's federations, further strengthen the protection of the legitimate rights and interests of women and children, and contribute to the start of the 15th FiveYear Plan and the building of Chinese modernization. Shen Yiqin pointed out that safeguarding the legitimate rights and interests of women and children is an important part of upholding a peoplecentered approach and consolidating the foundation of people's livelihood. She called on women's federations at all levels to focus on the goals and tasks of the 15th FiveYear Plan, continuously advance the Warm Action for Women's Rights Protection, improve institutional development, resolve key and difficult issues, strengthen grassroots platforms for rights protection services, and enhance the prevention and mediation of marital and family disputes as well as care and support services. She also said that all tasks for the second half of the year should be carried out solidly, the "Five Actions" and "Six Practical Things" should be deepened, the outcomes of the Global Summit of Women should be implemented, the relevant planning outlines should be advanced, while assisting in flood prevention and disaster relief and firmly upholding the bottom line of safety.
