There is still heavy rainfall in Huanghuai, Jianghan and other areas; the National Flood Control Headquarters continues to deploy flood prevention work

On July 17, the Office of the National Flood Control Headquarters and the Ministry of Emergency Management organized relevant departments to hold a consultation, assess the situation of recent heavy rainfall, and make arrangements for flood prevention work in key areas. The consultation pointed out that we are currently in the critical flood control period of "the seventh downpour and the eighth rise," and areas such as Huanghuai and Jianghan are still facing relatively heavy rainfall. Risks such as flash floods, geological disasters, flooding of small and mediumsized rivers, and urban waterlogging require focused prevention. The National Flood Control Headquarters is currently maintaining Level III flood control emergency response for Liaoning and Jilin, as well as Level IV flood control emergency response for Shanxi, Heilongjiang, Shandong, Henan, and Shaanxi. The dispatched working teams continue to assist in flood control, flood response, and rescue operations in Liaoning and Jilin. Relevant departments have required localities to strengthen joint duty shifts and consultation and risk assessment, promptly issue shortterm and imminent warnings, implement measures such as evacuation and avoidance of danger, patrols and defense, rescue and disaster relief, and resettlement of affected residents, repair damaged infrastructure as soon as possible, and ensure the basic living needs of the people.
