President Lee: “Mega projects were not a means to boost approval ratings”

President Lee Jaemyung dismissed interpretations that the three mega projects were a political move for the local elections. On the 4th, the president said on social media that if the goal had been to manage approval ratings, he would have started before the local elections. He explained that he has long believed approval ratings follow results and achievements, and that even before taking office, he had been preparing largescale regional investment with a major national transformation and balanced development in mind. He also said that largescale regional investment had become possible as the government’s recent policies for investment in artificial intelligence and advanced industries came together. The president also shared reports that the national approval rating had rebounded after the recently announced mega projects, emphasizing that what matters more than approval ratings are results and achievements that improve the lives of the people.
