Prabowo reveals President Lee Jae-myung's remarks suggesting a visit to North Korea Quickly check the background and reactions to diplomacy for peace on the Korean Peninsula
Indonesian President Prabowo Subianto said that when he visited Korea last April, President Lee Jaemyung asked whether he could visit North Korea and open dialogue.
According to Reuters and others, President Prabowo made the remarks at a Chamber of Commerce meeting held on the 1st at the Indonesian presidential palace. He said he replied that if there were a request from the South Korean side, he would go to North Korea with respect.
President Prabowo interpreted the question as stemming from trust in Indonesia's independent and neutral diplomatic line. The Blue House said it has continued to seek ways to promote peaceful coexistence on the Korean Peninsula by cooperating with countries that have friendly relations with both South and North Korea.
