The Annual Conference of the China Association for Science and Technology Launches Three Health Forums Focusing on Tissue Regeneration, Aging Mechanisms, and Brain-Computer Interfaces

At the 28th Annual Meeting of the China Association for Science and Technology, three special forums were recently held in Beijing around the theme of medical and health care, focusing respectively on “Tissue Regeneration and Biomaterials for Minimally Invasive Intervention,” “Mechanisms and Interventions of Aging,” and “BrainComputer Interface Technology and Its Applications.”
At the forum on tissue regeneration, participating experts discussed directions such as regenerative biomaterials, minimally invasive intervention devices, and medical aesthetics repair formulations, and shared research progress in areas including bioprinting, marine biomimetic materials, smart hydrogels, and antibacterial implant materials. Some technologies that have already entered clinical translation were also showcased at the meeting, and the forum further discussed the relationship between material degradation and cell behavior.
At the forum on aging mechanisms, experts focused on topics including aging assessment, intervention, and rehabilitation management for chronic diseases in older adults, covering cardiac rehabilitation, respiratory rehabilitation, management of multimorbidity in the elderly, home rehabilitation, and smart chronic disease management. Participants suggested promoting the integration of rehabilitation services across hospital, community, and home settings, and strengthening multidisciplinary collaboration and the development of digital tools.
The braincomputer interface forum discussed technological progress, clinical translation, industry prospects, and ethical challenges. The presentations covered noninvasive and invasive braincomputer interfaces, braincomputer intelligence and large models, and clinical applications in neurosurgery. Experts also exchanged views on safety, biocompatibility of longterm implants, data privacy, and ethical issues.
