On June 11, Xinhua News Agency, Haibei, Qinghai reported that the Qinghai Atomic City Memorial Hall launched a thematic publicity campaign centered on the “Two Bombs, One Satellite” spirit, telling stories of the older generation’s scientific research efforts and the passing on of that spirit.
The article revisits a photo of four young female researchers who went to Factory 221 in 1963, as well as Cheng Zhigang, son of Academician Cheng Kaijia, and his understanding of the spirit of his predecessors. He said that innovation and hard struggle are intertwined, which is an important core of the “Two Bombs, One Satellite” spirit and also offers inspiration for today’s young scientific researchers.
