President Lee Jaemyung appointed Ha Junkyung, the Senior Secretary for Economic Growth, as Senior Secretary for Policy at the Blue House, a post that had been vacant, and Moon Shinhak, Vice Minister of Trade, Industry and Energy, as Senior Secretary for Economic Affairs, respectively, on the 1st. This personnel move is interpreted as filling the positions, which had been empty for about a month after the resignation of former Senior Secretary Kim Yongbeom, with internal promotions, signaling the administration's intention to continue its economic policy stance and operate policy in a stable manner. The new Senior Secretary for Policy, Ha Junkyung, previously served as a professor in the Department of Economics at Hanyang University and has held the post of Senior Secretary for Economic Growth since June last year. The new Senior Secretary for Economic Affairs, Moon Shinhak, is a former bureaucrat who has worked broadly across the industrial and energy sectors and served as Vice Minister of Trade, Industry and Energy in the current administration. Through these appointments, the Presidential Office aims to strengthen the implementation of housing, jobs, finance, and industrial policies. The President also appointed Democratic Party lawmaker Song Younggil as Special Advisor for Peace Diplomacy to the President, and Democratic Party lawmaker Kim Byungjoo as Special Advisor for Defense Policy. Kwon Daeyoung, Vice Chair of the Financial Services Commission, was appointed First Vice Minister of Economy and Finance, and Jeong Uikyung, Head of the Land, Urban and Regional Affairs Office at the Ministry of Land, Infrastructure and Transport, was appointed Second Vice Minister of Land, Infrastructure and Transport.
