President Lee Jaemyung, after returning to the country on the 3rd following a 7night, 11day overseas trip, immediately moved to the Blue House and presided over a closeddoor meeting to address real estate and stock market issues. It was reported that ministers from the relevant ministries attended the meeting and briefed on market conditions and response measures.
During the meeting, the impact on real estate supply and demand and the market of the tax reform plan to increase the tax burden on ultrahighpriced and nonowneroccupied homes was reviewed. Along with supply and financial measures, stabilization plans for the stock market, which has recently shown high volatility, were also discussed, and followup measures for singlestock leveraged ETFs were reportedly also put on the table.
The Presidential Office is also scheduled to hold a Cabinet meeting on the 4th and ministrybyministry work reports on the 5th. This schedule is being interpreted as the president speeding up his response to domestic issues amid recently declining approval ratings for state affairs.
