Premier of the State Council Li Qiang conducted an inspection tour in Guangxi from April 29 to May 1, focusing on water network construction, flood control systems, port operations, and water resource allocation. He emphasized the need to balance economic, social, ecological, and safety benefits, accelerate the building of the main framework of the national water network, enhance the integrated effectiveness of water conservancy infrastructure, and provide support for economic and social development. In Nanning, Li Qiang successively inspected the Yujiang Laokou Water Conservancy Hub, the emergency repair project for the flooddamaged section of the Jiangbei Central Embankment, and the integrated improvement work along both banks of the Yongjiang River, calling for strengthened interconnection among water conservancy projects, advancement of infrastructure renewal and digital transformation, and improved flood control and disaster mitigation as well as water resource allocation capacity. In Qinzhou, he inspected the Ma'dao Hub of the Pinglu Canal and the automated container terminal of Qinzhou Port in Beibu Gulf Port, pointing out that the construction of canals and ports should be advanced to high standards, the deep integration of the water network and shipping should be promoted, and the driving role of the New Western LandSea Corridor should be strengthened. Later in Beihai, he inspected mangrove protection and the Guangxi water resource allocation project around the Beibu Gulf, emphasizing the need to strengthen wetland protection, the construction of major water diversion and transfer projects, and regional water supply保障. During the inspection, he also required Guangxi and southern regions to do a good job in risk screening, monitoring and early warning, and emergency evacuation plans during the flood season, ensuring safe passage through the flood season.
