Three ministries and commissions release implementation rules for cybersecurity labels for consumer networked cameras

The cybersecurity label for consumer networked cameras is divided into three levels, helping you quickly identify safer products Check filing and label information, make purchases with greater peace of mind, and avoid non-compliant products

The Cyberspace Administration of China, the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology, and the Ministry of Public Security recently jointly issued the Implementation Rules for the Cybersecurity Labeling of Consumer Networked Cameras, clarifying that the cybersecurity capabilities of related products are divided into basic, enhanced, and leading levels, corresponding to onestar, twostar, and threestar label levels. The rules apply to the filing and use of cybersecurity labels for consumer networked cameras. Consumer networked cameras here refer to standalone cameras purchased by consumers or organizations, used for audio and video information collection and processing, and equipped with Internet connectivity functions, excluding cameras in the public security field. The rules also specify the main information that the label should include, such as the name of the product manufacturer, specifications and model, cybersecurity capability level, validity period, name of the testing laboratory, the number of the national standard or technical document on which it is based, and the filing information code. At the same time, the filing institution needs to provide the public with a product cybersecurity label information query service and promptly announce violations by product manufacturers and testing institutions.
