At the press conference for the interpretation and release of the "15th FiveYear" Social Development Plan of Chongqing Municipality (2026–2030), Chongqing stated that over the next five years it will deeply implement the employmentfirst strategy, and promote highquality, full employment around "expanding total employment, optimizing structure, and improving quality," striving to create more than 3.25 million new urban jobs across the city.
The Chongqing Municipal Human Resources and Social Security Bureau introduced that during the "14th FiveYear" period, overall employment in the city remained stable, with continuous improvements in structure and quality. As Chongqing enters the "15th FiveYear" period, it will focus on three areas: improving the employment promotion mechanism, increasing support for key groups, and enhancing public employment services, so as to promote coordinated development of industry and employment.
For key groups, Chongqing will continue to advance initiatives such as helping young people stay in or come to Chongqing for employment and entrepreneurship, supporting college graduates' employment at the grassroots level, and recruiting internship positions, while improving employment services for migrant workers and the support mechanism for people facing employment difficulties. In terms of public services, the city plans to upgrade the unified job search and recruitment platform, promote accurate matching of information on positions, training, and policies, and add "job service stations at your doorstep" in communities and grassroots outlets to improve the accessibility of employment services.
