President Lee Jaemyung visited and comforted the service members injured in a landmine explosion accident in the western frontline demilitarized zone, and said he would treat them with due respect so they can continue their military service, as well as receive treatment and rehabilitation. On the 30th, President Lee met with the injured service members at the Armed Forces Capital Hospital in Seongnam, Gyeonggi Province, and urged them to focus on their recovery. He also met with their families separately to hear about their difficulties, and instructed officials to come up with measures while checking whether compensation and support for injuries sustained during operations were sufficient. The accident occurred on the 21st during a routeclearing operation by the Army's 25th Division, and among the 18 personnel involved in the operation, three were injured and transported to the Armed Forces Capital Hospital. The presidential office explained that this consolation visit was held privately, considering that releasing photos could hurt the young children of the service members.
