Two Chinese central departments urgently allocate 160 million yuan to support flood rescue and disaster relief in 6 provinces

On July 6, the Ministry of Finance and the Ministry of Emergency Management urgently allocated 160 million yuan in central disaster relief funds to support emergency flood control and typhoon rescue and disaster relief efforts in six provinces, including Guangxi, Hunan, Liaoning, Jilin, Anhui, and Shandong. According to reports, affected by Typhoon No. 10 “Maysak” as well as the combined influence of a Northeast China cold vortex and the southwest monsoon, many areas experienced heavy rainfall and flooding disasters, with casualties and house collapses in some regions. This funding will primarily be used for search and rescue, evacuation and resettlement of affected residents, hazard removal and risk elimination, investigation and remediation of secondary disaster hazards, and repair of damaged rural homes. That day, several reservoirs in places such as Nanning and Guigang, Guangxi, were facing danger. Relevant departments have raised Guangxi's flood control emergency response from Level III to Level II and activated the national disaster relief Level IV emergency response. In response to Guangxi's request, relevant departments also dispatched drones, emergency supplies, and multiple firefighting and professional rescue teams to the scene to ensure communications and meet the needs of residents' daily life.
