Manufacturing AI 2030 Strategy, Goal of 100 Trillion Won in Added Value and Building National Data and Foundation Models Take advantage of manufacturing innovation and export opportunities through support for M.AX clusters and AI smart factories
On the 29th, the government unveiled the 'Manufacturing AI 2030 Strategy' with the goal of creating 100 trillion won in added value in manufacturing by 2030.
The strategy includes building a 'National Manufacturing Data Library' to be managed by the state, developing a 'Manufacturing AI Foundation Model' that can be applied across the manufacturing sector, and creating a 'Manufacturing AI Transformation (M.AX) Cluster' centered on industrial complexes. The government also plans to promote a mutually beneficial AI smart factory project that supports the AI transformation of small and mediumsized enterprises based on cooperation with large corporations.
It also presented a vision to develop 'FullStack AI Factories,' intelligent factories where AI and robots work together, into an export industry. The strategy was developed after about six months of discussions by privatesector experts from the Ministry of Trade, Industry and Energy, the Ministry of Science and ICT, the Ministry of SMEs and Startups, and the manufacturing task force of the National AI Strategy Committee.
