A fire broke out in the early morning of the 16th at a machinery manufacturing factory in Wonchangdong, Seogu, Incheon, and spread to nearby factories, causing extensive damage. The fire department received a report around 1:49 a.m. and rushed to the scene to attempt to extinguish it, but as the flames spread, it raised the response level and launched suppression efforts.
It was determined that 27 factories at 17 nearby businesses were destroyed in the fire. Fortunately, no casualties have been reported so far.
The fire department deployed 285 personnel and 102 pieces of equipment to bring the blaze under control, and plans to investigate the exact cause and scale of the damage after the fire has subsided.
