"Science and China" Science Popularization Action Supports Rural Revitalization in Dayu, Jiangxi

According to the Science and Technology Innovation and Development Center of the Chinese Academy of Sciences, on the eve of National Day, the “Science and China” science popularization initiative supporting rural revitalization was held in Dayu County, Ganzhou City, Jiangxi Province. The event was hosted by the Science Popularization and Education Working Committee of the Academic Divisions of the Chinese Academy of Sciences and organized by the center. From September 27 to 30, eight academicians and experts from the Chinese Academy of Sciences visited 13 primary and secondary schools in Dayu County and delivered 16 science popularization lectures on topics including life sciences, astronomy, marine science, rare earth resources, artificial intelligence, and the spirit of scientists. Through campus outreach talks and seminars on science education, they brought scientific and popular science resources to grassroots schools. During the event, the experts also exchanged views with local primary and secondary school principals and discussed topics such as the coordination of scientific and educational resources, enriching the content of science education, and improving the quality of science education in counties. The Science and Technology Innovation and Development Center of the Chinese Academy of Sciences also donated 2,000 science popularization books to primary and secondary schools in Dayu County. The organizers said that the initiative aims to leverage scientific and technological resources to serve grassroots communities and young people, promote synergy between science popularization, technological innovation, and educational development, improve the level of science education at the grassroots level, and provide support for rural revitalization and the development of China into a science and technology powerhouse.
