Han Donghoon, the former leader of the People Power Party who is running in the Busan Bukgap byelection, strongly criticized the attempt to withdraw the indictment in President Lee Jaemyung's case. In a Chosun Ilbo YouTube interview on the 2nd, he said the attempt was an act of treating the public as fools, and claimed that even if you asked AI, it would say it was a wrong judgment.
The former leader also referred to his past announcement that he would not run in the general election, saying he had no regrets about his political choice. However, he said that if he had been a National Assembly member, he would have responded more actively to the recent state audit situation.
He also took aim at Ha Jeongwoo, the former Senior Secretary for AI and Future Planning at the Blue House, who is a candidate in the Busan Bukgap byelection. He questioned accountability and expertise, pointing out that the Lee Jaemyung administration has presented AI as a key task, but Ha, who resigned after just 10 months, has now entered the election.
