YouTuber Potato Turtle, who sparked controversy after visiting an agency in an attempt to meet Blackpink’s Jennie, has issued an apology and bowed his head.
On the 14th, YouTuber Song Jiyoon posted on SNS and apologized for causing discomfort with a recently released video. He explained that he had taken on a challenge to have coffee with Jennie as one of his bucket list items, but said he had not fully considered that visiting the company and holding a picket at a performance venue could seem inappropriate in light of fan culture.
Previously, he had released a video showing himself visiting OA Entertainment in Hannamdong, Seoul, to deliver a letter and a bouquet of flowers. As the video spread, criticism online continued that the visit had been excessive, and the video was eventually set to private. Song Jiyoon added that he had not tried to use Jennie for content, and that as a fan, he simply wanted to convey his sincerity.
