The Second National Conference on Science Education in Primary and Secondary Schools was held in Jinhua, Zhejiang on July 16, with the theme of “Deeply Implementing Science Education to Empower the HighQuality Development of Basic Education.” More than 1,000 participants attended the conference, including experts and scholars in the field of science education, representatives from education departments and research institutions, as well as primary and secondary school principals and teachers.
Attendees exchanged views on the pathways for advancing science education in primary and secondary schools. A relevant official from the Ministry of Education said that new technologies should be used to drive changes in teaching methods, build an open and collaborative science education ecosystem, and promote science education from broad rollout to deeper development. The Chinese Society of Education, Beijing Normal University, Zhejiang Normal University, and other institutions also introduced their respective practical explorations.
The conference was jointly hosted by the Chinese Society of Education, Beijing Normal University, Zhejiang Normal University, and the Jinhua Municipal People's Government. Through forms such as keynote reports and parallel seminars, it summarized and promoted reform experience in science education, helping advance the highquality development of basic education.
