On July 27, the 2026 “Unity and Progress, One Heart Camp” event of Yunnan Province’s ethnic minority youth exchange program opened in Kunming. Fifty teachers and students then traveled to Beijing for a fiveday study tour.
During the event, the teachers and students will visit places including the Yunnan Ethnic Culture Palace, the National Museum of China, the History Exhibition Hall of the Communist Party of China, Tsinghua University, the Old Summer Palace, the Great Wall, and the Forbidden City. Through onsite visits and exchanges, they will deepen their understanding of Chinese culture, historical development, and a sense of devotion to their country and family.
The Yunnan Provincial Ethnic Affairs Commission said the event has been held continuously since 2022 and has gradually developed into a standardized and professional studytour brand. The report also noted that in recent years, Yunnan at all levels has organized a total of 347 studytour activities for ethnic minority youth, involving more than 37,000 participants, with the aim of strengthening young people's identification with Chinese culture and ethnic unity.
