The 8th China-Russia Energy Business Forum Opens in Russia

The Eighth ChinaRussia Energy Business Forum opened on September 4 in Vladivostok, Russia. Ding Xuexiang, Member of the Standing Committee of the Political Bureau of the CPC Central Committee and Vice Premier of the State Council, attended the opening ceremony, read out President Xi Jinping's congratulatory letter, and delivered a speech. Ding Xuexiang said that under the strategic guidance of the two heads of state, the ChinaRussia comprehensive energy partnership has maintained highlevel development. Since the beginning of this year, energy trade between the two sides has grown steadily, major projects have progressed smoothly, and areas of cooperation have continued to expand. He also summed up three key lessons from ChinaRussia energy cooperation: headofstate guidance is the greatest advantage, mutual benefit and winwin results are the fundamental driving force, and jointly addressing external challenges is a defining feature. Ding Xuexiang said that the two sides should continue to deepen political mutual trust and practical cooperation, safeguard the stability of industrial and supply chains, and promote the development of the energy governance system toward a more fair, open, and inclusive direction. Nikolay Shulginov, Secretary of the Presidential Commission for Strategic Development of the Fuel and Energy Sector and Environmental Security and President of Rosneft, read out President Putin's congratulatory letter and delivered a speech, and Russian Deputy Prime Minister Novak also spoke at the forum. During the forum, Ding Xuexiang also exchanged views with Shulginov on further deepening ChinaRussia energy cooperation. About 400 Chinese and Russian government officials and business representatives attended the event.
